Up for sale is an Emerson Raven with the A style blade. I bought it from a collector who told me that it had never been used or sharpened. i wanted a non-coated blade but have not seen any for a while, so i grabbed this one thinking i would just remove the coating. I have now decided against that. I'm just gonna be patient.
The blade looks brand new and unused to me. There is a small, maybe 1/2 inch slight rubbing mark on one side of the blade. The clip was not flush against the handle so i removed it and bent it in a bit. Now it is flush. The screws thus do not look brand new. The pivot screw has a small mark on it, like it has been tightened or loosened. The clip does not look brand new and pristine, but it does not look beat up, scratched or heavily used either. The lock engages at about the 50% mark. Overall the knife looks in fantastic condition.
This Raven is marked as being made in 1997 on the blade under the Emerson logo. I was told by Emerson Knives that this batch is made from ATS-34 steel. They also told me that these early models are becoming relatively rare. The box is included, but it is a little worn looking, the corners are bumped, and it has writing on it that states it was a gift for someone.
I am asking $90 shipped and insured.
