Does anyone know if Emerson can re-finish the black coating on the knife?

Was going to end in my Commander in for resharpening and was wondering if they could re-finish it too, mine has really taken a beating and now doesn't look so hot...wondering if anyone knows if they can restore it to it's former glory.

Correct me If i'm wrong, but i don't think they would refinish for Productions...Pretty cost-ineffective i suppose..

Cheers,
Nick

now it has character.

i dont think the refinish.

If you have access to a bead blasting set you can refinish it yourself. Blast off the old finish then refinish using GunKote or DuraCoat from Brownells. You'll lose the logo but you'll have a brand new baked on finish about as tough as the original.

don't refinish it. I think it looks great with character / use marks....

What I did for my own was to bead blast the blades. On one, a CQC13 from 2005 it wiped off every bit of the original writing on the blade so effectively that you could no longer see it. On my 14 and one other I did the writing was still quite visible. So, its hit or miss I guess there. It did clean it up well though.
