This is a VERY special knife.

Reese Weiland took an Emerson CQC 7 blade, and built it into a Titanium framelock. The blade was reground by Phillip Dobson Beautifully!

Pics here: http://s1294.beta.photobucket.com/user/ConservativeKnives/library/

Blade is 154 CM and is from 2001.

Titanium frame has some wear and marks.

THE LOCK IS VERY STICKY AND REQUIRES A LOT OF PRESSURE TO DISENGAGE. I AM WORKING ON HELPING THIS. (Any suggestions??)

WOW nice. I love the CqC-6 and that grind is sick looking. I like how Phillip Dobson was able to keep the essence balde shape but jsut take the gind to the next level , but when you see it you can still ID the knife as a CqC-6. Sticky Lock It will break in over time but for now take a pencil and coat the tang at the lock surface with graphite from the pencil and it will instaly smooth out any Ti frame lock.

I tried that and sharpie on the lock bar, and it only slightly helped. Worked the lock for 1.5 hrs today with a flathead driver to save my fingers because the lock sticks so hard.

Reese does incredible work. I have had the pleasure of owning a super and normal CQC6 conversion.

Beautiful knife. Personally I find pencil lead (graphite) to work better than sharpie on the lock face of a sticky frame lock. Aside from that, there's not a lot you can do besides let it break in. Carbodizing the lock face would probably fix it if you have that option, but I realize access to all carbodizer is not exactly a common thing.

That blade looks amazing, that's one heck of a lockbar :congratulatory:

Thanks for the kind words everybody. I have put several layers of graphite on the tang, and the stuck is almost completey gone! Thanks!!
