Let me just start by saying I love my Emerson Journeyman and my CQC-15. Emerson makes a great high quality hard use knife and they are wonderful tools that function exactly as intended. They both get plenty of pocket time and are both users for me. That being said I have seen pics of regrinds and have always wanted to have it done, mainly for the sake of making my knives unique, but also because I am a fan of the V grind. I contacted an outstanding member of BladeForums and he did a beautiful job regrinding my two knives.

With the CQC 15 he did a hollow grind that blends with a handrubbed flat grind at the tanto tip . He also made the drop point more pronounced and did a razor sharp V grind. (see pics below)

The journeyman was given a hollow grind with a more pronounced drop point and a hair splitting V grind. (see pics below)

Thank you for the compliments folks. They are much appreciated. I am very happy with them.

Absolutely amazing. A high-performance modification, the choice of a discerning knife-nut.
:D

The Journeyman looks great BUT that 15 looks absolutely WICKED !!!

Congrats on getting those done

Thanks guys. He did such a nice job I sent my hinderer xm-24 spanto to him for a spearpoint regrind and custom cannon fiber scale.

Be careful. I believe Rick Hinderer asked/demanded/pleaded that Tom Krein stop doing regrinds on his knives.
Luckily Strider has no problems with regrinds so I may send mine in for a regrind.

Can you please please PM me the member that did the work. The Journeyman looks like a stout Gentleman Jim and the 15 is bada$$! Are they both real V grinds now?

Thank you! I didn't realize that. The last thing I want to do is upset anyone. Especially Rick h.

Thanks sir, I am truly smitten by both those knives. Hope you don't mind too much if that (and some other things to differentiate) ends up happening to my Journeyman.
