Hi so i just bought a 2007 commander and it has up and down play in the blade so i was planning on sending it in to get that fixed. Does anyone know if when i send it in i can get the black coating on the blade touched up too? Or is that not available?

The blades can't be cosmetically touched up that I know of without recoating the entire blade. That isn't going to happen for a single blade, at least I've never heard of it. The blade replacements cost over $100 each.

no they do not touch up finishes. Sosa is right as they will replace the blade for a fee and depending on the blade will determine the fee

Your best bet would be to send it for the warranty work, then use the heck out of it. If the coating not be uniform bothers you then you can look in the service providers area and have someone ceracoat it for you. Of course that will void the warranty!

Yeah im not looking to get a new blade i only paid $100 for it. The up and down play i didnt know about but for that price im not complaining ill just send it in

Sounds to me like the perfect opportunity to have one hell of a beater knife. Use it and just don't mod it yourself. If the blade eventually bothers you then replace it. 100 bucks is a good deal on that knife. I do wonder if they haft to replace the TI liner if the knife would haft to have the stand offs installed vs the backspacer?

That is why I only buy satin blades. The blade coating scratches drive me crazy unless it's a beater, then who cares.
