Every online shop I've been going to I can't seem to find the models I'm looking for in stock. All I can find are serrated versions.. is there a shortage of Emersons in the market?

Emerson knives are made in batches so you get peaks and troughs of availability.
The plain edge knives are more popular so always sell out faster than the part serated knives.

What are the knives you're looking for ?

Torn between picking up an A100 PE or CQC10 PE.. I've found them but usually from the higher priced dealers.

Exactly why I haven't bought my A-100 (plain edge) yet. I've been waiting for quite some time now.

I wish knife manufacturers would produce twice the number of plain edge knives than combo edge when they do a batch.

Surely by now they have woken up to the fact that plain edge knives are more popular with their customers?

Emersons are definitely in short supply right now. I paid almost $200 to get a stonewashed CQC-10 PE, and it was the only one in stock.

Call them, talk to Justin or Jamie
They dont always update their site as fast as they get things in.

I think that (probably) many military users prefer combo edge blades, or maybe even Mr. Emerson himself does? Whatever the case, apparently, combo edges are still in high demand or they wouldn't make so many of them. I personally prefer Emersons in plain edge. Mainly because I don't care much for the Dragon's Teeth pattern. Plus I find plain edge Emersons feel better in use.

Well, I have my doubts that combo edge is more popular. If that was the case, then all the CE 12's would be sold and PE's would still be in stock, whereas the opposite is true.

And if you look at the existing stocks of the big dealers, PE's are definitely in shorter supply than CE's.

My other issue is that Emerson are reportedly waiting for stocks of existing knives to be sold before introducing the new stonewashed finish.

But I suspect many people who would otherwise be buying are now waiting for a stonewashed knife.

Which seems to be to be a bit of a Mexican stand-off which is going to delay the release of the new finish unnecessarily.
