Emerson Specwar-A question

I bought what was advertised as a SOCKF-A a couple years ago, PE/SF with a V-grind. I got a wild hair and decided to buy a SPECWAR-A PE/SF on the boards last week, and it appears to be almost the exact same knife, but with a chisel grind; the swedge just a barely a few mm different than the other. I didn't get an original box with the first knife, so my question is this:

Are my knives truly different models, or was the SOCKF-A mislabeled on ebay? They are not counterfeit, as they both have philips screws and titanium non-magnetic liners. Is the difference in grind and swedge the difference between a SOCKF-A and a SPECWAR-A? Or are they the same knife with different grind options and factory subtle swedge differences?

Thanks; I'd post pics, but they would look basically like twins.

I believe this is the same model knife but with different names......its my guess that the SpecWar is an earlier incarnation of the SOCFK.

but I could be wrong! (Its been known to happen. :p).

The other odd thing is they both have a 2001 date stamp.
I emailed Emerson, hopefully I'll get an answer. Buffalohump, I know how you feel.;)

Here's their email reply:

Dear Sir,

The Specwar does not have the Wave feature and the SOCFK does. They are very similar other than that.

Please let us know if you have any further questions. Thank you.

Ok, that helps me also!!! Good info and thanks for posting their response!!!

I see a SOCFK in my immediate future.

Wow!! I have seriously never heard of anyone getting an email response from emerson. Just curious how long did it take you?

Thanks for the Nfo

The SOCFK is essentially a SpecWar with the wave, and were initially a L.E. for Extreme Outfitters.

What is the logo and blade finish on your Specwar? I don't recall the spearpoint knives being chisel ground. Can you post a pic?

Here are pics of a handmade prototype of the Specwar, made in 1995. It is completely custom, made years before the factory came into existence. Since he only made 2 or 3 like it, any others would be a real find.
