Emerson super karambit issues

Hey guys I got my first super karambit and I love the knife but I have a few issues I wanted to resolve and was seeing if anyone else had the same.

First issue is the lock is very very tough to disengage and so what sticky. Not sure how to mod or fix that. It's so tight to disengage I sometimes have to take the knife out of my standard grip and use two fingers to push the lock out then it will pop out. Not very good for a $250+ knife

Second the holes in the handle make it a pain in the ass to get the knife onto your pants or pocket. Didn't know if anyone had some mods to this or some tips on how to fix this.

And last is just a simple question. It's a 2010 model with the chisel grind. How do y'all sharpen the chisel grinds from emerson? Can I use my sharp maker? And if not what angle do they usually put on their blades?

Also if I'm right handed and wish to deploy the knife with the wave feature but once deployed have the knife in pakal grip, or reverse grip does that mean I would have to flip the pocket clip to resemble left hand carry and carry on the inboard side of my right pocket as opposed to the traditional outboard side of pocket like the majority of my knives?

Thanks again for all y'all's help

Hey man, congrats in the Super Karambit.

The sticky lock will wear in with use, it's pretty normal. So, play with, but try not to nick yourself, those karambits are sneaky that way.

I don't have an Emerson Karambit, so I'm afraid I can't help you on the handle holes/pocket issue.

Yes, the Spyderco Sharpmaker is perfect. Use the edges of the stones for the curved blade as the flats will not make full contact.

Traditional reverse grip and pikal grip are different, traditional being blade out, Pikal being blade in. To deploy via the wave into a pikal grip as a righty, I would think you leave the pocket clip as is. Seems like putting the right hand forefinger in the hole with remaining fingers on the back, then dragging and drawing the knife more straight up than back. Again, I don't have one, but that's how it would seem to work.
