Emerson Super Karambit... rattles?

Hey guys.

Just received my Emerson Super Karambit in the mail today. On the whole, I must say that I´m a bit disappointed with it. It fits nicely in my hand and that´s the one reason I actually prefer it to the Fox Karambit I had before, but the fit and finish on this knife is pretty poor. The pocket clip has imperfections in the coating and the spacer is cheap for a $200 knife.

But what really annoys me is the the damned thing rattles in the closed position. The sound comes from around the pivot area. Now, before I take it apart to attempt to fix the problem, can anybody tell me if it´s a design flaw that can´t be fixed, so I don´t waste my time?

Thanks.

It will be the stop pin.

I have quite a few EKIs that rattle, the ones i have only rattle in the half way position though. If you just stick a spacer in the scale where the stop pin is mounted it will stop the rattle.

The thing i would be concerned about is why it rattles in the closed position ? the blade should sit on the stop pin when closed other wise the blade will hit the back spacer.

It might be worth contacting EKI about that and see what they say.

My CQC-7 used to do that. The rattling stopped after awhile. Maybe it was the WD-40 that corrected it??
