Somebody is awake at the computer at EKI.
The Company store is not open, but the terminology has been changed from the ever elusive "two weeks"to "very soon"and "sometime before Christmas"
Also, they finally put pictures of the NASA knife up on the site.
It is a production Specwar with a cool hook ground in the front. The NASA logo appears to be on the back.
Where can I order one?

Welcome.

I believe Extreme Outfitters will be getting in some of the NASA Knives. You may want to contact them to see if you can get on a list.

For everyone's convenience:

Looks like it smelled something funny.

Good eye on the pictures, I completely missed it when I was surfin' the site earlier.

Also, for what it's worth, the C/P page has said "before Christmas" since before last Christmas.

Same here !

Steve from Extreme told me a few days ago that he expects delivery in about 4 months time. Anyone heard any different ?

I'd say Ark nailed it. The part I don't get is they don't use c-rations any more, so any knife can cut open plastic/aluminum foil packets for the space cadets. Why do you need the little cut-out?

Hey Ark, do you remember the little, issue can openers (p-38s)? Maybe the next version can have one riding parasitically in the handle!

Jbravo,
I guess we are just not taking into account the simple fact that NASA has "special" needs. Especially when it comes to tactical MRE interdiction: "Houston, we have a problem...Contact! MRE down!"

Those p-38's were cute little buggers. A p-38 SPECWAR. Hmmm...Sounds awesome!

Excellent! Introducing the 2000 Waved p-38 SPECWAR. Very catchy. I see lots of potential here.

Hey guys, those MRE packets could be pretty tough to get into. Especially when your're really hungry or worse, if you really need to get to the TP packet(Toilet Paper) inside. Think about it.

The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced that the astronauts need the Specwar for SPECWAR operations in outer space against extra terrestrials

Nakano 2

I know of a local machine shop that has converted a couple of Commanders (among others like Benchmades and Spydercos) to left handed and changed several other knives to tip up carry.

The warranty slip from EKI says that doing custom work on your knife will void the warranty, does drilling new holes for the clip qualify as custom work?
Will Emerson put the holes in for you, so you can keep your warranty?

I know Emerson makes left handed knives, with the clip on the opposite side and the lock oriented in the left hand position. I'm not sure if they are available from anyone other than EKI directly.

EKI does offer left handed models and they are available only from EKI. The body is an exact mirror image of the right handed knife.

I'm not sure if converting a knife to left handed/tip down would void the warranty.

I was just surfing the Emerson web site and noticed a couple of other minor changes.

The customs are no longer shown on the site at all! I know thier not taking orders any more, but they took them completely off the site.

Next was the new shirt designs are up.

The Dragon design was at the Blade Show:

And the LaGriffe/Tiger is a new design that was just finished a couple of weeks ago:
