Sold-pending receipt of payment.

Could someone give me the model/model name/year made/etc. on this knife. Your input would be appreciated. My pic is not very good, but it has the "halfmoon" Emerson logo, possibly ti bolsters and liners, wood scales, 4"+ blade, 9" OAL, bladesteel unknown. I checked the Gallery but didn't see anything like this one. Any input would be appreciated.

The body shape is similar to a Viper model 4.

Any one else?

P.S. Big Tex, hold on to your hat!

John, dogman also thought it was a Viper, Model 4. Another forumite thought it was pre-Viper. Maybe there will be some more input. arkhamdrifter, I already have the knife-I was just trying to get some info. Thanx for the comments.

As a proud owner of a model 4, I think it's more on the league of a model 3, o better yet, a pre-model 3 (viper) Model 4 has a thumb ramp that this one lacks.

beautiful indeed.

take care,

Having been lucky enough to get this knife I will answer the question about its lineage. It is from the same series as the "Fancy Pre-Tacticals"

From what I understand, Ernie was making these knives in his pre-tactical days when he was working with Michael Walker. This one has wooden (I believe coco bollo) handles. The other two are jigged bone and I believe micarta.

I like them in that to the best of my knowledge they are truly custom as they are one of a kind each.

Does anybody know any more of the history of these? Derek? Thanks.
