Amici,
Does anyone know why EKI doesn't tap their knives at the factory for southpaws? I'm sure they have their reasons not to, but in today's market, this is the standard. I also find it a tad high to charge someone who already paid $$ for one initially to have to spend another $35.00 to do so. Which technically turns a let's say a $130.00 model, into a nearly $200.00 one also taking into Emerson's preference to use Priority shipping for everything, from knives to even a cap to a lanyard... The latter seems to boggle the mind, but then again, they are in California, so I can imagine the taxes they pay are exorbitant, hence one of the reasons Buck banged up shop and head North to Idaho..

Cheers,
Serge

If you go to the Emerson site you will see they have fully left handed knives. Both the clip and liner lock are set up for left handed people. I think its mostly the commander and the cqc7. Like I said, check their site to see what models are available.

Yep you are right and I am also aware of this. BUT the deal breaker is the price tag.. For a knife that's still costs a tad $$ on the aftermarket even in the best places, to buy one ground up southpaw model directly from EKI would be too much in my book, and that simply shouldn't be..

Cheers,
Serge

Left handed knives are a solution to a problem that isn't that severe, IMO. I can manipulate liner and framelocks just as easily with my left (non-dominant) hand,.

I too wonder why most of them aren't tapped on both sides. My karambit was, but not the CQC-11 or Super 7 in my possession.

wanted to buy a cqc 8 for a long time - but i would need it to be tapped for left hand carry - i would like to see them tapped both sides

It would be nice to see them tapped for yall lefties. Until that happens try this. Rock a correct handed :D Emerson in your back left pocket. It waves out just as fast and easy except in a reverse grip. It also pulls out casually just about the same.

Never had a problem as a left handed person. What benchwarmer380 said is correct, I have used the left back pocket or the left front pocket with no problems.

First a correction, it's listed at $25, not $35 to drill and tap for left hand carry on Emerson's site. That being said, I'm left handed and my Mini Commander hasn't been tapped for left hand carry. It took a bit, but I've gotten to the point that I can preform most tasks right handed, but if I need a bit more control it's not a big deal to pass the knife over to my left once I pull it. My Mini Commander is actually my current favorite EDC over my lefty compatible knives.

I am a lefty and bought a left handed commander from the EKI site, I was about 75$ more than what I can get the same right hand model delivewd to my house for...

Wow, that's odd considering I can send my knife in if I wanted and it done for $25 + shipping both ways,

That's not including the lefty liner lock though granted 50 bucks for a liner lock... Is it worth it? That's something the buyer would have to decide

I wanted the lefty so I paid the price. I could only find them direct from EKI, so no discounts and it was like $22 for shipping... And I love it so much, I'd do it again...
