Emerson's at San Francisco Gun Show

Went to the gun show hosted by Crossroads of the West at the Cow Palace this weekend in search of Emersons amoung other items.
Only three tables had any Emerson's at all. One table had almost every Emerson production model but no WAVE's! The only knive they had with the wave was the Commander. I was looking for a CQC7a with the Wave. I got to play with an un-waved version though. Very nice. Now I'm convinced I need one. It is so much nicer than the first CQC7 I have from Benchmade (model 970s). I also wanted to see the mini models but no one had them. Most unsettling was the sales pitches I got from the sellers. I was told by two of the propriators at two seperate tables that the wave only comes on the Comanders and not the CQC7's. I didn't argue the point but was told that I was mistaken. Sounds like a BS story to get me to buy one of their stock. I'm grateful to the forum. It's a great resource due to it's members.
The third table only had two Emerson's.
 
One of the reasons they said that only Commanders come with the wave is that, for the info. that they presently know, it is probably the truth.

I work in a knife shop and, we have not gotten anything other than commanders with the wave, nor have we been informed about any other knives with the wave. (from Emerson or distributors) This is not to say that I don't know about them though...

Give them a break, too bad that the waved CQC-7B and SARKS (as well as P-SARK??? or the waved CQC-7A that your looking for that is not made) are not hitting the shops yet, who knows about the others if they ever will (SOCFK?) ... hopefully soon, because they public needs to know -- there just too cool.

I've had a SARK for about 6 months, now, but don't carry it much, opting for a BM AFO, while working...anyways...I think most knife dealers are slaves to the distributors, as in if the dist. doesnt have it, it must not exist. I've also noticed that many dealers aren't aware of the info. exchanged on sites like BM, KF, etc...Oh well...

The SARK and Commander are the only waived models generally available. The waved 7s are only available direct from Emerson, and the SOCFKs, of course, through Extreme Outfitters.

I have seen the SARKs at a local gun store.

I was at a large Gunshow yesterday in Orlando and one dealer (a buddy of mine) had a huge selection of EKI knives.

Commanders "Satin" plain and serrated, Black-T plain and serrated.
CQC7A "Satin" and Black-T, Serreted and plain
CQC7B Waved (I forget exact configurations)
CQC7B "Satin" and Black-T, Serreted and plain
CQC7A Mini "Satin" and Black-T
CQC7B Mini "Satin" and Black-T
PSARK "Satin" and Black-T
One SOCFK - Green-T with a fairly low serial number

Not to annoy you, but I went to the same gun show in SF on sunday and the guy at OSO Knives said he was getting a 'shipment' of cqc7 with wave by about 3:30pm.... I waited around, and now I have one. $140. Pickings were definitely slim as Emerson's go at the show. I think the cqc7-wave is new enough that not everyone looking for it would know about it.
By the way, it's a great knife.

bfm, glad to hear you got waved CQC7. The unwaved one I played with was really nice..and only selling for $105 but I gotta have the wave. It is a stout little piece.

I guess I expected to see more offerings than I did. I can see that the dealers were being straight with me on the info they knew about. I have always had good experiences with the dealers at these shows.
