I decided to take a short hike this morning and took a couple of Emersons along for the trip. I took an M-50, a CQC-8, and a CQC-7b. I ended up using the 8 mostly and it performed extremely well. It broke down some kindling, helped clear a few stray branches from the trail, and most importantly cut my cigar. It also cleaned right up upon return with a tuf-cloth. Here is a few pics. I was impressed with how well it worked for these menial bush-craft tasks.

I have an 8 and I really love mine and I am thinking of using it when I go camping or maybe my Mini Manix, or heck maybe both of em and my Gerber Prodigy too.

I used and carried my 8 all the time untill i got a 12.
The 8 is a good looking knife though, nice upsweapt blade good handle ergos to go with that too. :)

When im out and about I usually have a small to medium fixed blade and my 12 is always along side.

I'm with ya on Emersons for woods use!

all three of mine (CQC16 (Bushman), CQC14 (SNUBBY) and my Super Commander) have performed flawlessly. Everything from fuzzsticks, shavings, rope cutting, food cutting, branch splitting (hand batoning only), hole drilling, pitch chipping/gathering, fungus cutting, pole making, walking sticks etc etc etc.
