Just outof curiosity, what is Ernie's sharpening policy for prodo knives? A friend would like to get his Commander resharpened and reconditioned. Thanks!

For a knife that I assume warrants some extra attention, the price should be $45 plus shipping and insurance. Check out Joel's CQC-7 for the type of work I am talking about.

Cost for regular sharpening is $15 and that includes the service and return shipping/insurance.

Hi Derek -

Do I understand you to mean that if I send in a CQC6 with the dreaded secondary bevel, for $45 Ernie will put the preferable single bevel on it? That would be great news!

I second Seth's idea, i would love to send my carry 6 in for a single bevel grind. Please tell us it is true Derek.

How the heck am I ever gonna get my miniCQC7 with all this rebeveling going on? C'mon guys, just grab a rough file and get to work, it won't hurt the value, hehe.

Actually just wanted to say "Have a great holiday season and a healthy, prospersous new year to all of you guys-jbravo, cousin Straw, john h, mr and mrs e,derek, and all the rest".

Gulp!!...err..ahh...ahem...

It seems as though I was a bit premature in my assumptions. Seems as though Joel's 7 was pretty badly beaten up and Ernie felt that the only way to make it right short of a new blade was to re-grind it to the zero edge profile.

For obvious reasons, there is no way that he can re do all of the secondary bevel grind knives to the zero edge. I was optomistic for you guyus but shot off my mouth without getting the good intel first.

I will take the hit for this all by myself. Please do not call the shop about this lest I take more of a beating from the boss!!

Hi Derek -

Sorry if I started trouble! Won't mention it any more.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year all.

Seth,

No worries. I started it myself. There were no real problems. I headed them off at the pass
