I have a new one in box that I purchased about a week ago. This is the second P-TAC that I have ever had and the 5th Emerson that I have ever owned in my life.

1. Super Karambit BT
2. CQC-15 SF
3. Super Karambit BT (chisel point, standoffs)
4. Persian BT
5. Persian SF

It seems fair to me for a knife like the P-TAC to go to someone who is more excited about it. I just don't have the same excitement that I used to about this line of knives anymore. How do you guys keep this up?

Man, I have to say, it's only a fixed blade phase. I thought the grass would be greener elsewhere, but its just the same. I have the fixed blades that I was after and I recognize that I wanted something out of that little knife that no-thing can wholely provide...

So, if everything goes right, it will be coming back... With backup. Pics when I get them. Oldies but goodies.

I honeslty am at a point in my life were not too much excites me much any more. Got excited last January after waking up in recovery room after surgury. First time in life I was put under a general anestesia.

But if you think life sucks go to some VA Medical Facility like I did last week. Look around hard at the people. I saw a guy with no hands, bet he would love to play with an Emerson folder, and open & close it.

Apprieciate the simple things you take for granted, like having both arms, legs, hands, hearing, sight, life is not bad..

Taste change.
I love the Japanese blade and handle(s) and this is the direction I'm going.
fwiw, try a CQC7, HD7, HD12 or a Commander.

Honestly, it seems very pretentious of you to equate a change of taste in a particular line of knives to being ungrateful for the necessities of life.

I do not appreciate this input and I fail to see how wanting to turn over a knife to someone who likes them more than I do is me "taking simple things for granted". Everyone is entitled to their own opinion... Unless there has been some new law restricting that too.

If I somehow ignited some sort of passive ardor in my initial post, I do apologize that you choose to receive it that way, though it was not directed toward you. I don't remember stating that "life sucks", or anything for that matter.

And I hope they don't fine me for this reply.

Have a good one! :D

Hey FullPower, No worries man, if it does not excite you, move on to something that does--the key is to find what you like and use the hell out of it (at least for me). For the longest time I stayed away from Emersons--now they are all I carry (in terms of modern folders). They just do it for me. I typically rotate between a CqC-15, my Roadies (regular and super), and an Ubr Commander. I have had a few others that I gifted to close friends/ family. Now, I also love my Busse and a whole bunch of traditionals... so I get the need for variety. Maybe that's how I do it--not sure.

In any case, if you are looking to give an Emerson away, count me in. If we are just talking here, then that's fine too. Which way are your tastes evolving? After having a "wave" on my knife, I find it hard to pocket one without it.

Best,
Anthony

"IN"? O.o *face-palm* I'm about to be the most hated man on the forum right now....

Guys, I never intended for this to be a giveaway. Nothing in my initial post indicated that I would be giving it away for free. Has anyone looked at my signature? I was letting you guys know that I have it and I want to get rid of it... FOR $$$. I don't want anyone who IS an Emerson guy and wants a new one to miss it on the for sale forum. I have had nothing but bad luck on them because my posts always get avalanche'd to page 3 in a matter of hours.

I apologize for the confusion...

To answer Aias:

I am gravitating to fixed blades, mostly. IWB seems a little more attractive than pocket carry.

Do you really think coming on the forum that the Emersons pay for to post your little "for sale" sign is appropriate?

Good luck with the sale. I get my knives customized when I start to grow tired of them. My PTAC though, was sent out to get worked on as soon as I got it. I wanted a framelock conversion.

Hey FullPower, I get the move toward fixed. If LA county was not so dead set against them, I'd have a small one in my pocket all the time. And while open belt carry is technically legal, it's not worth the hassle I predict will come of it. When I hit the trails and/or go to San Bernadino county, I hang my Busse TGLB on my hip.

Good luck with the sale, and good luck with the hunt for a more favored blade.

Before the rest of the wrathful indignation...

I'm not sure that you read my entire post, friend. You focused a bit too much on the "what" and not the "why". Both aspects are valid in this case and it would be valuable from a product point of view for Emerson's company.

In fact, I remember the final question of my OP, was how you guys maintain your sense of product loyalty as repeated customers.

In that case, as a paying customer, yes, I think it IS appropriate to post feedback and insight as to why I do not wish to keep it in my rotation.

That said, it would be nice to swap it out for an Emerson fixed blade.

In my opinion, they should do a comeback run of the fixed blade Persian with G-10 scales.

You know: like they did for this folder this year. But since I CANNOT, I have to go for something else...

Oops. Yeah I read it wrong and totally missed the signature. Good luck with the sale.

Do not know if you knew this already but I believe the P-tac was originally a fixed blade then EE liked it so much he made it a folder.

I was not trying to flame your post, just explain my prospective on life, and maybe the way I see that worold I live in has changed.

I spent many years living in a simpler times where there were not so many choices in knives, or a lot of other things. Now one only need to go to aweb-site like BladeHQ to see all the offering in folding knives. Honesly I am constantly amazed, and confused that so many companies make knives.

Bottom line is I own a couple of Emersons, they to me are a simple funcitional design kind of like the Old VW Beetle Car that had it endine in the back of the Bug.

The Bealte was not pretty, sexy, fast a lot of other world like sereal. But it function well, and did the job it was designed for. That being simple, dependable transportation, in a no frill package.

Think Emerson Knives are kind of like the Bug Car, simple and very functional. The VW Bug to this day has a cult following, and so do Emerson Knives.
