I want to start collecting Emerson Knives. Which knives would be the best to start collecting? I know the original customs are very expensive but is the any current production knives or currently discontinued knives that would increase in value?

I have a SOCFK-B for EDC and was thinking of getting an HD-7 for my first collector piece.

Any thoughts?

I don't think EKI prod. knives will net you much as a collector piece. If you have it pimped nicely that might be a different story. Now hand ground blades with regular prod. frames might be more valuable. But just watched a handground 11 in a SOFCK body go for less than what the fella paid for it. I wanted it so bad though but have to control spending if you know what I mean. I think early Emerson's that are handmade will always increase in value or at least not loose much if any value. His more rare customs too will fetch big bucks. As for prod. pieces unless it is long out of production and an early prod. piece especially certain Commanders you might make some bucks if bought right. keepem sharp

you might find stuff of interest here on the forums for sale/trade section. flebay and other such places are worth a look, knife/gun shows are also good places to go.
