Greetings all,

Right into it, I'm in Europe (Portugal) and have my eyes set on my first emerson knife. However, the only website I can find with them that will ship here has the one I want (CQC7 wave) listed at £175!! (USD$278 if you will) which we can all agree is rather a large amount.

I'm fully aware these are expensive knives, this a not a debate about quality or 'should I'. I've always liked these and I have my sights set. I'm merely asking if anyone would/should be paying quite this much. They are new but heyyy. That's a lot of $.

If anyone can recommend a separate, cheaper site I'm willing to look, currently using heinnie haynes, and yes I know there's a selling section here ha. I've looked a bit and can't find a better one for europe

Any help is appreciated

Wow !
Emerson is probably my favorite brand, but no way am I willing to pay nearly double the cost for a CQC-7!
Did you happen to try and contact one of the supporting vendors here on BFC? Or even EKI?
Not sure but they may be able to provide international shipping and save you a bit of $$$

I did try get it through EKI.. But the shipping cost made it basically the same price, if not slightly more. As for what you mean by the supporting vendors here, what do you mean? Sorry ha I'm a bit new.

I'm glad you agree on how ridiculous the price is though. People tend to bitch about the prices stateside.. But wow. Like you said, it's nearly double

Google Emerson Knives USA and see what turns up. That should give you lots of dealers. They should be half the price, but make sure you are getting the precise model you want, as there are several variations of the 7, including V grind, black blade, etc.

I highly recommend Matt D. Tactical (the name of the store and his screen name), who is a BF member and his store carries Emersons. You can check his website, and even e-mail him or post a message on his visitor board on this site, to make sure of details.

I've tried trawling through google, most of it is geared towards the states (free shipping haaa). Thanks for the recommendation though, he doesn't have it in stock but I'll try contacting him

Do you have anyone here in the US that can maybe send you stuff through the mail? I am not familiar with the details on shipping to particular countries in Europe, and I know different customs protocols apply to different countries regarding what's legal to ship. Maybe someone who does it on a regular basis can help.

Some friends in New York.. Not that that's much help hahaha. I'll ask around and keep an eye on the for sale section of the forum. I've been fighting through google all day and it seems that when I add shipping they all come out prettying the same price (effing expensive) so I'm at a loss for now. $278 is a bit too much methinks

That's definitely too much. I've seen some Emersons sell on the exchange for well below half that price, and even with shipping it would still come in well under $200. What are the laws regarding shipping knives to Portugal?

The VAT in Europe really kills you. I know how it is. I just moved back to the States from being in Europe for seven years.

But no. A 154cm liner lock is not worth $278. I don't care who's name is on it.

It's ridiculous I know. And yeah there's no way in hell I'm going to pay that much. I'll have to wait till I'm stateside if I can't figure something out. The sites even trying to push me a CRKT for £80. Anyways... Back to waiting

In EU are very expensive, I'd paid for a combat Kbit more than 300 E ( in Germany ), you can find a way better deal online, I've bought severel Emerson from Newgraham.
