I realize that emoticons have been turned off on the Exchange. But I see people, non moderators, using emoticons in other sub forums. For example, on GBU. I don't have that option. Is there something I need to do?

Thank you in advance for your time and any help that might be offered.

There are many members who are able to use emoticons on GBU who are not mods. That's why I used it as an example.

I should have said that the emoticons are disabled on the "For Sale" sub forums of the Exchange.

Emoticons are disabled across the exchange. The reason you see them in certain threads is most likely due to them being moved to GBU or old posts.

There are recently started threads on GBU that were not moved there. Members are using emoticons.

Emoticons are enabled everywhere :
🤩

Reactions, like "Like" are disabled in The Exchange.

If you're having trouble accessing emoticons, check if you have inadvertently hit the BB Code Toggle:

r8shell r8shell I used the wrong term. You are correct about emoticons. But reactions are not disabled everywhere on the Exchange. Again, I refer to recent posts on GBU and you'll see what I mean.

Oh, okay. Accidentally hitting the bracket icon and turning off emoticons happens regularly around here, so I thought that might be it.

I looked and do see a few reactions showing in recent threads. My guess is that they were posted in a different area and then the thread was moved to GBU. The "likes" still show, but the option is now disabled.
