A recent flea market find. Stamped EMPIRE WINSTED CT with an "S" above the Empire. Marked VASCO on the handle and etched VASCO STAINLESS. I'm wondering if this is a contracted advertising knife? Or is this possibly a company that Empire bought steel from and possibly used this as a sample of an Empire product? Thanks, Barry

Barry, i don't know the answer to your question but it's nice little knife you've posted. I've bought a few Empire Gent's knives recently. v. well made, nice attention to detail, a bit like the old Sheffield knives.

Thanks guys.....That's one thing about collecting pocket knives, some questions may go unanswered. If I ever find evidence that Empire bought or used Vasco Stainless steel for their knives I will post to this thread. Thanks again, Barry
