Does anyone know a decent place online where I can pick up large and small pairs of EMT/paramedic shears, the kind that cuts through anything but has blunt tips? I'd like to get nylon sheaths for them as well, to protect the shears inside my kit.

I've found regular EMT shears and the marine version, called Sea Snips. Any recommendations as to which I should aim for?

Try Galls. They have pretty much everything.

Another place I use is Moore Medical They have any kind of shears or scissors you could need along with just about anything else. Prices are not bad either. My family doctor gets some of his supplies there.

I've used Galls also and have been happy with both companies service and people. I have called both to check on an item that was listed as "unavailable" on-line to be told that the exact item was out of stock but a different size, color, etc was available if I wanted it instead. (wish more companies were the same)

I have lost more pairs of those trauma/emt shears than I can count, therefore I buy the cheapest. Most of the ones Ive seen have at least one tine/blade be serrated. Once they are dull they are done for.

If you you do not anticiapate cutting a lot of heavy clothing etc, consider a pair of bandage scissors. They are also blunt tipped, smaller, usually better made, and I find them to be more useful (granted I'm not out in the field much). They also can be resharpened.

Yhe best selection and IMHO, the BEST prices can be found at www.boundtree.com They are a EMS/LE supply Company and enjoy a solid reputation.......wolf
