U am starting a knife sharpening business and I was planning g to do regular edges and mirror polishes. I was wondering if I should use sprays or compounds. I currently have jendi diamond compounds. 3 2 1 and .5 micron. I was thinking about getting gunny juice since people say it gives a more even distribution of diamond particles. But it doesn't look like it would polish as well

I use Bark River CBN emulsion. It comes in a bottle that drops out the liquid. It polishes to mirror finish. IMO, you only need CBN for hard, modern super steels. For older traditional steels, anything will work.

I have ended up using Stroppy Stuff. I have all of them. Seems to last a while on leather. I use the 9 micron to mainly touch up a knife that is just starting to loose it's performance. I can do this several times before I need to break out the stones. It did leave a nice mirror finish when I used a guided system. ( there is no way I can do a mirror finish freehand. I am just not consistent enough). When sharpening i will usually strop on a 4 micron then 1 micron. If on the edgepro I might go all the was down to .1 just for a supper slick and polished edge. I have been known to the do a few passes on a coarseer stone to bring some toothless back though. Only on my knives never on a customer knife. I usually just sharpen them rather toothy and deburr down to 1 micron or 0.5 micron.
