Received the knives mentioned above and pictured below a while ago. I believe its the third EMW to be sold by Yangdu, and a first for a real sword (not a machete) that I've owned. Its great owing a Kopis, such a historical blade, and from HI no less. Ive showed it around and everyone wants it, no doubt. I've only heard that the handle is a bit long, which might be true (especially because people were smaller back then), but I imagine its for the best for a couple reasons.
Ive customized a blades very slightly with the sharpening, and used the grind stone on the awl to make it tapered to a nice trigram point. I haven't used them as much as I'd like, other than fencing with the bro and finishing up the outline of my juniper bow. the YCS is heavy and sliced parts with several branches with ease. Its one serious knife, replaces an axe, and Ill know all the better when I can really get to chopping some lumber. EMW, to my surprise, does the same to peel away strips of juniper from the bow, even as it is significantly lighter.
Overall, I give these blades the best rating possible and then some. To anyone looking for suggestions on which kuhk to buy or if you ought to, I say buy as many as you can! you'll find each one has a purpose and will hold a special place in your mind.
Xenophon was said to prefer the kopis opposed to the xiphon on horse back. Guess I have some riding to do!
