If I had the money, you would have seen that Sirupate fly into my greasy little hands. :)
Look at the Survival Knife, too. Bhakkta Kami does such clean, crisp work.

What is the length of the Sirupate handle, just the wood part between bolster and butt?

Hey Karda - is there a option on your camera to increase the exposure? It's tricky to take pictures of knives with the shiny blade and dark handles. I hope someone pulls the trigger on this because I'm tempted....

Maybe focusing on the handle (press button halfway down) instead of the blade would make 'em brighter. On my camera I can move the camera after the button is halfway down and it keeps the exposure/focus locked in (you just don't want to move closer or farther away when its locked).

You got me....I'm lucky the pics i've been taking come out as well as they do.
Do you mean they should be lighter? It has a button for that.
My camera is a sony cyber-shot that is my sons. I don't know where the manual is.
I find if i take the pics in morning light they come out better.

Yeah, lighter - like in the one I edited the beauty of the handle and Chakma and Karda are more visible. I almost sold myself on it editing the picture! It is tricky taking pictures of these things...rain or shine!

Thank you ,bric.
I will keep this in mind for the next DOTD.
Please bear with me, i'm no photographer. You all are lucky your arent getting pictures of my fingers. :D

I'm not allowed to buy any more knives for a while. Thankfully, I'm MUCH less tempted now that I have what are, to my mind, the perfect HI khuks. Where's Joekido though? I'm surprised he hasn't sharked all of these.

the problem with end of the month specials is we're all waiting for the paycheck on the 1st after hunting for dimes in the couch for (( not a paid BF dealer ))'s free shipping weekend...

Karda, I am a hair's breath away from grabbing that sirupate: any more pix? How is it compared to other sirupates? well shaped? thick? thin? good hardened point? Also, will u be posted DotD later today or tomorrow as if there is something sweeter I will wish to wait.

I only have that pic. It is a standard 20" siru, but has a nicely grained handle. It is well shaped and crafted. Very Weildy. I thought about keeping it, myself. Khukuri's do not come with a hardened point. Cant tell you when i will post DOTD's or what i have, as that would not be fair play.

I think I need one more HI product. Then I can stop. I'm thinking a Tarwar. Really can stop after that. Really... Sigh.

ok i'll take the sirupate. I figured most khuks dont have hardened point mebbe except for ultimate fighter or some such but some are harder/softer than others i have noticed. ok, i forget: what's next? karda@bladeforums from my normal email or here??

Just click on the link in my sig or send it from your email, whichever you prefer.
I will say that, i've been saving the best for last.... which is subjective, what i think is best may not be for others...
But i don't have another Siru or Chitlangi though.....

That Sirupati looks pretty sweet and the 1st Khukri of this batch that really caught my eye. It has a clean look to it and the handle has some curve which IMO should be there on a Sirupati.

Looks like the AK has a burr on the recurved section of blade, but thats easy to take care of. The handle looks really good and it too has some curve to it. Not sure if the gently curved handles help much with cutting/chopping ability, but I do know that they feel right in my hands. :)
