After coming across a David Boye BDS winged lockback and justifying pulling the plug and going all in, while buying a few Christmas presents, I decideded screw it and went all in on a handful of Knives I've wanted including an Olamic and a Condor Parang, and a few others in between, pics to be taken once they all arrive...

I any case, I ended 2018 strong as can be... How are you going to close out the year in your knife collecting/acquiring/accumulating?

I was hoping to add a Pohl Force One to the collection before Christmas but apparently Lion Steel is dragging their feet on the production, so that seems unlikely. As for other knives, I am on the fence about a Liong Mah Eraser, CKF Kadat and Reate K1/K3. All for their own reasons, so we'll have to wait and see.

Well , I sold a few of my duplicates earlier this year. But only to make room for some new knives.

I've been anxiously awaiting the release of the Spyderco Subvert and Paysan. Still hoping they both drop before Xmas.

My favorite/most carried knives of 2018 have been my Spyderco Military and Large Sebenza 21.

I'm currently looking into getting a small/medium size fixed blade.

I wish they would offer the Subvert with different scales, it's a really cool shape and I do like my folders big, but I don't see it as getting popular enough to warrant spring runs. But it's definitely one I'll keep my eye out for, doesn't look too difficult to get custom scales made for (or maybe Rit Dye them dark). The Paysan is another great looking knife, hopefully it'll arrive soon-ish. I feel like waiting on a knife can be a good thing though, if a knife is really hyped and people are lining up for it and it gets released quickly you're more likely to impulse buy, the Paysan as long as people have waited for it, the hype has definitely died down in part due to the price fluctuation and the waiting game. So while it's definitely on the "Maybe buy it"-list, it's not like OMG gotta have it!

I just bought a handmade Kephart that should be here today. That will likely be it for the rest of the year. In 2019 I have my heart set on finding a fixed blade compliment to my Shiro F3. So far I've been ogling a Fiddleback Forge Bushfinger and a CultroTech.

Added a TON of knives in the second half of the year... probably finally going to do a mini-purge of the “drawer sitters” to make room. Coincidentally, will finally be losing my seller virginity on the exchange... lol. Always the buyer, never the seller :D

My wife usually gets me something sharp for Christmas. It's the first thing I open...so that I can use it to cut multiple plastic ties off my daughter's toys.

I usually let her to just pick something from my wish list, but this year I have a hankering for one of the Schrade balisongs. Impractical but fun:)

If I get enough Amazon fun bucks, I may splurge on a Leatherman tread for some traveling im doing next year. I've put off such an expensive piece of fluff since I didnt NEED it. I still dont but at least there is some justification now.

Beyond that, my end of the year buying is done. I might get my little brother a khukuri for Christmas, but I have so many in my collection I may just make him a custom sheath for one of mine and call it good.

Now 2019 I have a few knives in mind. The new ZT Emerson is way up there. However, I'm going to need to recover from the holidays.

There’s a chance I’ll grab a ZT 0609 just to have something under the tree at Christmas.

I’m still geeking out over the Spyderco Kapara I picked up two weeks ago. Other knives have been less relevant since then. ;)

I'm waiting impatiently for the Spyderco Amalgam, LC200N Salt, and Smock, and I want a Fox Jouf when they come out too.

Just waiting on the 2018 traditional forum knife. They're supposed to ship sometime next month. Might also pick up a new gun, waiting until this weekend to see if there's any good deals.

I recently scored a mint condition '99 Emerson Specwar-A. Hope to have it soon. Not to mention scoring a '98 Commander a couple weeks ago. I'd be happy to end the year on this, but it's not over until the fat lady sings!

I'm sort of patiently / impatiently watching for something to catch my eye in that niche "~$60 440C ceramic bearing flipper" department. Otherwise, I'll likely close out the year as I entered it. My rotation has been static for a while.

Unfortunately I’ve been buying customs lately, and they take time. Christmas delivery unlikely.

I've been phasing out some of my production knives in favor of custom knives and accessories (ie. leather sheaths from @Makael). I've bought 4 customs from the knifemakers here on the forum. It's been really nice getting to experience this facet of the hobby, and also feels good supporting our locals.

I'm not knocking my production knives. They're great. But there is nothing quite like hand made.

Probably end the year on the Buck 301 forum knife, Spyderco Smock really wanting this one, maybe a Kershaw 7777, and on a much more expensive note either another XM-18 but a no choil spanto or a Case Bose raindrop Damascus cattle knife or the Premium stockman for my Christmas present.
