He sees Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld in the audience ;)

Actually that was his response to the Condi Rice pic you posted. "NO it's really THIS big" ;)

You guys are soooo out of the loop; that's the high sign for the Bat Channel.

That is the Texas Longhorns sign. The University of Texas Longhorns.
Im betting this was from the governorship days..

When I was a kid, that was the way we gave the "finger". That was only one of it's meanings. It was a traditional Old World gesture with many meanings. (horns, devil, cuckold, up yours, etc.)

It wasn't until I got into high school that the middle finger became a popular sign. We always yelled "Rotate" when we gave the finger. I have no idea why.

"Rotate" faded into the past, but the "finger" has become an international icon.

this thread is becoming idiotic; there is an old world, Itailian signature which means something so obsence that people will pull off the asphalt and fight over it. Assuming something decadent from Bush's collegiant days...well, youre really reaching.

Yep, thats "Hook 'em Horns". University of Texas thing. Football team did good this year. Only lost to Oklahoma, which had an incredible team this year.

lol... one... two.... three.... SATAN!!
dangit... you always call that...

for what its worth, dio got the sign from his grandmother who was from the old world (not sure what county, may have been italy). he described its meaning by saying that his grandmother would use it to ward off "the evil eye" when anyone used it on her... so if someone gave you "the evil eye" you would do that to them to help stay off any bad luck caused by it...

or, so he said on vh1 :)

Ha ha ha ha ha ha

Extend your right arm, elbow bent, fist raised. Slap your right bicep with the left palm. Yell, "Perch and rotate! When you get to the elbow, whistle!"

Edit to add: without the yelling, also known as "The Italian Salute".

I notice you've posted twice in this thread, munk. Does that tell us something about the idiots who post? :D

It's an interesting view of different cultures. Some view it as a symbol of the devil; in Italy I understand it's "il cornuci" (the horns of the cuckold). For W, who was watching the University of Texas band march by at the time, it's "Hook 'em, 'Horns", a gesture which you can see thousands of fans using at Texas Stadium during every football game. ;)

In fact, I'm not satisfied with my explanation of idiocy. I'm not just in the thick of it- I defy any one to show me a bigger idiot. We are all of us idiots, but my errors of pride, courage, and impishness, lead me into some really dumb situations- where Angels fear to tread.

There's no point in nominating me for 'chief idiot', though, as that would just go to my head and I'd swagger around some more.

One of these days I'd like to do a scathing parody of munk. I'm not sure it would be printable. Here's a hint- I'm once more talking, talk talk talk; as Semper said once, 'we can't get him to shut up." I read recently this is a feature of ADD thinkers....yeah, I need an medical excuse!!

I figured out a long time ago it wasn't just what you were, but were not, and learning to manuver around understanding the two.
