Again, this post may not be of too much help, but I can say this:
I have an SS Police and an SS Delica. Both have seen extensive carry and use, and have held up quite well. Initially, I too was worried that they would develop play (specifically, side-to-side) over time (especially the olice, since the blade is so long and theoretically would cause much more stress to the pivot de to the increased leverage).
I determined, however, after working these tools quite hard, that the Delica has developed zero significant blade play (when compared to the FRN version... Delica 3). The Police eventually showed a TINY bit of play, which was easily fixable (even a Buck 110, tank of tanks, will show some play after years of hard use, and is also easily tuned-up).
You can't go wrong with the SS Spydies... They'll outlast your lifespan, most likely... Mine will be around long after I'm gone, I'm sure (and I'm only in my 20s).
