14 degree relief with 16 degree micro bevel to 16k Shapton GS.

The blade has had some regrinding done so it is a serious laser now.

:)

Another nice edge Rook. I bet that will hold up fine. I have two that tom krein worked on that have served me well and they were thinned, 5dps with a microbevel. I just avoid any crazy antics with them. Russ

14 degrees per side & a micro bevel of 16 degrees per side.

The relief is not really a mirror as it is only polished to 8k Shapton GS - refined if I might add.

But is is cool for a user unit.

:)

A good 8k shapton edge will look like a perfect mirror to most.

Looks like whoever thinned the knife took quite a bit of height off the blade.

How do you find the 16k gs for edc. Havent really left anything of mine at 15k for long enough to use them.

I normally only take my working folders to a refined 500# to 1k finish on the edge - good slicer/push cutter combo.

But because the Endura will be used somewhat lighter, I went with a slightly lower angle and finer grit.

ZDP-189 loves a fine edge......

:)

At first I thought that rookie was talking inclusive angles. I actually took my ZDP endura to 11dps and micro'd at 15dps on the sharpmaker. The back bevels aren't as pretty as Rookie's though. Mine has held up fine cutting carboard and even a few plastic ties.

Hello MadRookie, First off let me also say that is gorgeous. If you do not mind my asking, how long does an edge like that take you? I am asking because I really am a neophyte to this art of yours. thanks
