I have DF2 and Delica 4 with zdp-189 steel and british racing green FRN scales so you know natuarally I am thinking about the big brother Endura in the same configuration. I do have multiple PM2, Manix 2, and Military. I did have couple of vg-10 FRN Endura and ended up tading/selling them (but that was before I bought so many spydercos).

Could someone tell me why I should get this Endura (or should not)? Will it fill a better role than other spydies that I currently have?

I have over 40 Spydercos, mostly in Exclusive or Sprint trim and I love the Military as well as most ~4" blades. I frequently carry some variant of an Endura because they are such functional slicers in such a slim easy to carry package. The ZDP-189 Endura probably gets the most carry because of its excellent combination of edge retention, stainless, and light, slim profile. It's like a pocket kitchen/utility knife with super steel performance. Truly a classic! HAP 40 variant is a good one too for a little tougher steel that chips less with hard cutting.

The Endura is alot like the Delica except bigger. I love it because it is such an amazing blade for such a lightweight comfortable to carry compact package. The handle is comfortable without being overly wide.

Knives like that where you get alot of blade and cutting performance in a knife that is comfortable to carry mean alot to me personally.

Lately how a folder carries in pocket is a huge part of the equation for me.

I’d look for a Stretch in ZDP, it’s between the Delica and Endura in blade size if the Endura is too large for your taste

I have 3 Enduras in ZDP-189. 2 have G-10 handles, and 1 has a Ti handle. I did move some parts around. The thing I love about the ZDP-189 is the lack of Vanadium allows me to sharpen it on my Shapton (Alumina) stones. My S-30, 60, 90, and 110-V Mili’s require the harder bonded Venev and Naniwa Diamond stones. For some reason the Shaptons are easier to resurface than the bonded Diamond stuff.View attachment 868735

ZDP is a great steel that goes head to
to head HAP40 without a cosmetic flaw.
It does not have scratch prone cladding
while being fairly rust free.

I have had some nice knives in my day, and still do, but if I could only have ONE knife out of all of them, the Endura in ZDP would be it.
While it is a bigger knife, it carries much smaller than it looks. Plus with the great blade steel and nice action, it's about as perfect as a knife can get.

While it may not be all the knife I'll ever want, the ZDP Endura is all the knife I'll ever need.

zdp-189 is not very stainless in my experience. If you use it for food prep, be sure to not leave acidic juices on your blade, or it will discolor a bit.
