I just acquired a serrated Endura 98, and I must say, it's a lot of knife for the money. I have about a dozen or so more expensive Spydies in G10, micarta, or carbon fiber. But the zytel actually works nicely in the Endura to make for an extremely lightweight yet functional knife. I may have to keep my eyes open for a plain-edged version. Maybe even a Delica.

Great knife!

How about a Goddard Lightweight?

You're right Guyon. The Endura ain't too shabby. I've been carrying the same one (fully serrated, zytel clip) for about the past five years now, and it is always the one I go back to no matter how many other knives I get. I have it on right now actually! Anyway, this baby has taken abuse and has seen a lot of action, from doberman attacks (fortunately the owner called him off after he saw me pull it) to cutting me out of my seat belt when I was hit by another car.

I finally got around to buying a new style Endura on Sunday. I was all set to get a Native, but the lockup sucked on the only one the shop had in stock. Everyone should have an Endura or two for sure though.

I also have an almost ten year old serrated orginal model Endura (minus the plastic clip which went south years ago

). I carried and used this knife for years since for a long time it was my only decent folder. It is still locking up tight to this day, and is the official bagel slicer around the apartment at the moment.

The new plain-edger is nice, razor sharp and locks up solidly. Plus I won't have to worry about the clip breaking off on me either. The perfect piece to clip to one of the pockets of my M-65 jacket while out and about. A big knife that is thin, opens fast, weighs nothing and locks up tight. Yeah, Enduras "ain't too shabby" in my books either.

I gotta agree. Endura really isn't too shabby. It was my first real folder and to this day, one of the knives I carry on daily basis. I lost my first one few years back in Mt. Washington, but I quickly replaced it with another one. I also have the 98 version, and can't wait to get hold of the new version.
