The Endura & Delica drones (as well as live Gunting and Gunting drones) are in the display/sale cases at SFO!!!

I've a question...what exactly are drones? I always thought they were "training knives" without sharp edges.

If this is the case, why would anyone want Endura or Delica drones? These knives are not meant for use in knife-fighting circumstances. I can think of many other Spyderco knives which are much better suited to this task.

Of course, if I'm wrong about the meaning of "drone", please enlighten me. If not, then comments on my observations above would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Hi samo! Hope you're doing well over at Kuala Lamupur.

Sorry samo, make that Kuala Lampur. Damn fingers are typing way too fast without checking for mistakes!

Corrected again! It's Kuala Lumpur. I'll go now and retreat permanently in a state of shame and embarrasment.

Saludos!

Although they were not designed as "tactical" folders, Delicas and Enduras make excellent defensive tools. (Good ergonomics, cheap, readily available, lightweight, decent blade geometry, legal to carry.)

There are a number of respected instructors and professionals who give them high points. And several defensive systems have evolved specifically around them. Erik Remmen (who developed the original Clip-It course), had Spyderco factory-dull a dozen or so pink Delicas as drones a number of years ago.

Joel - who is very biased when it comes to Delicas
