Endura / Delica update ?

Just a thought.
I love the ffg Endura and Delica models, but I feel they are lacking just two things.
1. I think the clip should be updated to the deep carry wire clip.
2. A 50/50 choil should be added. Once in a while I feel like I need to choke up on the blade, and this would afford that ability. Looking at the current design, I think there is already plenty of room for it.

There you go, the ffg Delica and Endura 5.

Over time I have become quite a fan of the deep carry wire clip as well. One that completely buries the knife, as I like to fly below the radar. I'm with you on the choil as well.

Do not want a 50/50 choil or wireclip. The Delica would basically become a Caly 3. Though, I guess that maybe is your point. I would rather have Spyderco come out with a FRN/lightweight Caly.

I think the Endura/Delica line is fine as it is. I wouldn't want a wire clip (even though they are strong, they don't give quite as positive of in pocket retention as the hourglass clips currently used) and I think that a choil would ruin the ergonomics.

If you want a wire clip and a choil in a Delica, look to a Caly 3 as previously mentioned. Though it doesn't have a wire pocket clip, the Police 3 is like a slightly larger choiled version of an Endura.

I feel like the Delica is missing something when I hold it
it's a fine knife but I'm interested in seeing what improvements will be in the Delica 5

The new Delica/Endura 5's will probably sport the updated lockback design of the Native 5 (if that can be done in the Seki facilities). I don't see a change in clip or choil introduced as there is considerable opposition to those types of changes. The mold could change for an updated design but I don't think that's likely either.

Not going to happen, these are two of their bread and butter models, a large change in handle/blade design by adding a choil is not only unnecessary, but probably harmful in the long run. And a deep carry clip is less desirable to most knife buyers who just want an easy to use knife, and aren't so preoccupied with thoughts of their knife that they think everyone is staring at their clip and judging them.

I can see everyone's points.
I really don't care how it is done....I would take a lightweight/FRN version of a Caly and a Police. Either way it pretty much would meet my expectations.
I do agree that the likelihood of the Spyderco "bread and butter" models making huge changes is not very likely.

Thanks for everyone chiming in.

for me, i want them to restore the old endura tip without a rounding near the end. it makes for a more fragile tip, easier to snap but it'll be a lot meaner.

I can see what you are saying because I have a coworker who loves the wire clip and wants them on everything. I never warmed to the deep carry and like the clip on my Enduras just fine. I would like to see some colored G-10 scales on the Endura 5 though.
