Overall, my favorite Endura is the E1. This folder had it all except for the plastic clip which would break. :D Give me a E1, with the improved metal pocket clip any day, over the newer models.
I EDC a Salt1 because it is as close as the E1 as one can get.

As usual, impeccable taste, Rolf. I have a Salt 1 on my 'to buy' list as I have wanted to try out the H1 steel for many moons.

You will LOVE the Salt1. PE or S? Blk or Yellow?
 
I have heard that serrations ground into H1 make a good edge, so I am thinking a black version to set off all those nice teeth. ;)
 
You have heard the truth. The fully serrated Spyder Edge is the only way to go on this model, imo. And, you can't go wrong with Black.

I too like the E1 and it's son, is it the E2? I got an old E1 for $5 with the serrations worn and the tip and clip broken off. Sharpened her and she's still in service. I also like the older blade shape with the pointier tip.

I have an old Cold Steel with the same clip design, and it hasn't broke yet after about 10-15 years. I like the way the clip is more part of the handle than when they are screwed on. Maybe with new materials Spyderco could bring it back.
