Hello, I have the oppurtunity to get a black fern ffg endura, or a black native in cpms30v. I like the size of the endurance, but have heard a lot of good stuff about the native. I'm in need of help in this awful situation... thanks
Jack

I have the native but have handled the endura.

If you talking Native FRN then it's a choice between better blade steel (Native S30V) or stronger Knife (Endura with liners)
If you talking Native 5 then that one

They make Enduras with ZDP-189 powder steel in both saber grind and full flat grind. Shoot for one of those. The steel is worth the extra money.

I have EDC'ed a Native for 6 or so years now, this knife has been through hell and never let me down. You couldn't go wrong with one.

that being said, you couldn't really go wrong with either of your choices, some "awful situations" are better than others ;)

I was thinking of the vg 10 endura.

The correct question is not what I should get, but what should I get 1st? :D

The native is native 2. Can this be taken apart for cleaning, liners ? I believe the native is frn. The endura is vg10, and this is through trade so it's not about money.

I would take the Endura any day. I have both knives, and the Native doesn't have the advantage of size, weight or beauty.

One day one eBay, I found two black Enduras for sale for only thirty-five bucks each, shipped. I thought something might be wrong with them, but when I got them, they were fine. A little tight, but fine. The one I'm carrying has loosened up considerably. Oh, and both had serrations. I normally hate serrations, but the Endura's serrations are very useful.

The S30V on the Native doesn't appear advantageous to me in the least. But the Endura is just nicer...longer blade that can be used in a pinch for self defense.

You don't have an "awful situation," either. That would be if you didn't have the money for either!

Native.
It feels more solid in the hand.
It's light weight.
The steel is excellent - Put a 17degree edge on that sucker and you will squeal with happiness as it takes chunks of your arm hair at a time.
The clip has perfect retention.
I just love the Native's.

They are excellent. I love the Endura and Delica's as well. But the Native wins for me every time.
It can hold up to heavier use while being able to handle the light slicing jobs as well.
