What year did the endura wave and the FFG endura come out? Has spyderco ever made a FFG endura wave?

I received a PM2 this weekend but I can't get used to it. My hand misses the Endura contour. Guess i've been carrying one for way too long. Plus the speed of the wave feature blows everything else away.

There's never been an endura (or delica) wave that's FFG, no. Don't know about then the wave'd model first came out.

I had an Endura FFG in my edc rotation. And after getting my Para 2 it sits and will probably be retired. The Endura is a pretty good knife. Just a click to long and I have always had trouble. Getting the Flicking just right. The Para 2 took no getting used to. Just give it time.

As for the FFG versions of the regular Endura and Delica, they first appeared in the 2011, so somewhere in late 2010, early 2011 is most likely. And, as noted, Spyderco has never offered a waved FFG version of either the Endura or Delica. However, I'm fairly certain that at least one person has had a waved Endura reground to FFG, so that's always an option if you really want that combination of features.

A FFG waved Endura has to be whipped out of the pocket harder to reach lockup due to lower blade mass. I suspect that this is a part of why Spyderco doesn't offer the factory waved models in FFG.

That sounds logical, at least until you consider that Spyderco offers a waved version of the Delica which, by virtue of a blade that's both shorter and thinner, has lower blade mass and a shorter moment arm than the Endura.

the blade strngth would be compromised too much to wave a ffg model. Not enough steel there

Does anyone make aftermarket endura scales?

Again...affirmative.

Wow, those are some nice Enduras!
Any idea if anyone makes custom scales for the Stretch?

Thanks.
Stretch scales aren't readily available that I know of but have seen some great custom work. But that comes at a high price to replace the FRN scales on the Stretch.
The new Nishijin/Damascus Stretch is due to be released and with its full liners should be simpler to get custom scales made.

Yes, I own a factory waved Delica, and it waves much easier than my waved FFG Endura does. That Delica's blade is shorter and also thicker than the waved FFG Endura. The lowered spine on the waved FFG Endura leaves the blade very thin and light, a wonderful slicer.
