Endura-size folder with a thin blade?

Hi all.

I love my Endura. Fits my hand perfect and I love a larger blade. But...

The Endura blade is just too thick for my EDC needs.

Is there an Endura size folder but with a thin ( Chaparral thick ) blade?

I'll check it out. Thx.

Even cutting an apple with the Endura FFG still wedges or breaks the apple in half rather than cutting it.

The Spyderco Centofante 3 is a little shorter, but quite thin. Sits right around 3" of blade, but the handle is nearly as long as the Endura if I recall correctly. I love the Centofante for the thin blade, I wish they made most of their folders with blades this thin. If I had an Endura to put next to mine, I'd show you a comparison photo, but I don't... Other than that, I'd be looking at traditional slipjoints, though I'm sure there are more modern folders in that size with thin blades, I just don't know of them.

Oh, just remembered the Spyderco Caly 3.5. That one has a thin blade, too.

Just did some searching, found these photos by cgmblade here on BF from a two year old thread.

Top to Bottom:
Endura -3mm thick
Stretch-3.5mm thick??
Centofante-2mm thick
Delica-2.5mm thick

So, the Cento is between the Delica and Endura in overall size. With a decent sized handle. But a thinner blade than both. I believe the new Caly3.5 are 2.5mm, so not quite as thin as the Cento.

Thank you!

To be honest, the Cento wasn't even on the radar but I'll give it a serious look now. It's just one of those Spydies that doesn't get a lot of exposure. Thanks again!

The Al Mar Ultralight is a good option, but wayyy overpriced in my opinion. If you can find a good deal for one, go for it. Otherwise, the Delica 4 FFG is one of my favorite slicers. The Spyderco Gayle Bradley also slices extraordinarily well due to the very thin hollow grind, but I don't know if the shoulder would be too thick for what you want.

Yup. It often goes under the radar, so I had to post it up. I actually have the Cento4, with the straight edge, but the design is really great on both. Got mine for a steal when they discontinued the 4. If you thought other spydies were good slicers, wait until you get one with an edge this thin

Oh, and this post from the same user might prove useful

Not sure if it's large enough for you, but the Kershaw Skyline has a nice, thin, wide hollow grind on a thin blade.

Another vote for the Al Mar Eagle Ultralight... It's true that they're a little on the pricey side, but worth every penny in terms of fit & finish, imo.

The Spyderco Chokwe is endura sized and has a 3mm blade also, but it has a more acute angle on the grind because the blade is wider, and I find it slices better than the endura.

And the stretch has a 3mm blade too.

Perhaps a reground Endura?

Endura reground to reduce by 0.5mm (now same width as the Delica on the right).

+1 with the centofante...I love mine and it's used all summer long when I'm grilling. Very slicey!

How about the larger opinel, I have one(can't remember the number) amd it's the same length as my zt 200.

I have an Opinel 8 and to be honest its got the perfect blade thickness for EDC and food prep stuff. I guess I dont really NEED anything else but would love to have a modern folder like a Spyderco but with that blade thickness.

I am going to order the Centofante III this morning and give it a go.

I forgot the JD Smith is a real slicer. Cool knife, but a bit bigger.
