Out of all my knives my endura wave keeps finding its way back into my pocket more often than not.

It doesnt cut as well as the ffg e4 or even the hollow ground ss e4. and yet for some reason there it is and myself loving it for what it is.

I have the plain edge version and wish i had snagged a se one back when the getting was good. Hell id even take a combo edge. But i have seen some1 with a reprofiled endura wave, and i am wondering which of 3 things would be best.

1/ try and track down a ser endura wave

2/ send mine in to krein or some1 else for a regrind

3/ have either my ss e4 or ffg e4 waved

i think number 2 or 3 will be the best bet, but i have concerns about how thin the ffg grinding might be. I dont really feel comfortable with anything thinner than the ffg e4. i do i have a ffgd4 that has impressed me to no end, but idk if i could trust an e4 to do everythin i might ask it to with that thin a blade stock.

This one is honorably retired but still finds it's way to my pocket occasionally.

wow i am constantly humbled on bladeforums by other peoples sharpening skills. On a good day i can get up to hair shaving sharp. but never splitting.

You can send in the PE version and have them put serrations on it for $25 if I am not mistaken.

they will do that for $25? i Just hav gotten mine back in from getting a factory fresh edge put on it. I have to look into this. Do they offer the treatment for other blade aswell? I like the foliage green enduras and a full serrated version would be a choice piece for my collection/rotation

hell if they do this i would buy a waved delica to have re profiled

As far as I remeber, theyi will serrate or reserrate your knife for that cost, plus shipping. I was tempted to send in a Para2, I am a fana of full a nice SE.

I would say that i mix and match my blade as far as edge combo. I usually carry my knives in pairs often ser and then a plainedge together. I just think that the grind on the wave endura is too thick so it should improve its performance by being serrated tenfold.

spyderco does not serrate blades. the will reprofile the blade angle but not change the type of edge. i emailed them and they said itd take off too much metal

Bummer. I am certain I read a post where a person sent in a knife to be serrated. I was really wanting to send in a Para2 to be serrated. Thanks for the confirmation.
