Endura wave or Police3 ?

Hello,

Considering that recently I am knifeless (!!!) I need to buy some knife soon!

I had the Military and it is a great piece of knife, but I trust backlocks more then the liner lock so I am considering at the moment Endura wave or the Police.

The Police would be the instant winner here but I don't like fragile tip in knives. I know that the Military tip was rather thin as well and that's one reason I don't want Military again.

Could you please post me some detailed pic of the Police tip compared to the military and/or Endura ? Would you say that the Police3 tip is stronger then the Military ?

Thanks in advance for any help! Beeing knifeless sucks ass :grumpy:

To wave or not to wave that is the question.

If you plan to use the wave, get the Endura. If not, get the FFG Police3, which I think is the better slicer. The tip on my P3 does seem a little stronger than the tip on my Millie. I wouldn't say either has a weak tip, unless you plan on stabbing or twisting with it. I'd pick the P3 over the E4W, it's just a better slicer IMO.

I have the WE4 for a SD knife because I like the fast wave action, the lock, and the strong tip. I carry it as my large(sd) knife as a backup to my CCW weapon in my EDC rotation. I also have a P3G10 as my large "tactical" knife along with a ZT0200 near my home weapons in case sh*t hits the fan. Both are great it just depends on your uses of the knife.

The tip on the Police III seems stronger than the tip on the original SS Police, and it looks stronger than the tip on the Military. However, the tip on the Endura 4 is definitely stronger than the tip on the Police III. If tip strength is important to you, go with the Endura with Emerson opener. I was very doubtful at first, but I've been carrying one as my EDC for a while and it's grown on me.

These photos may help.

Size comparison, I don't have a waved E4, but the regular one is the same length...

^ Whoa! It appears that the Milie is thicker, just tapered at the end? Thanks for the shots Deacon.

I vote for the Endura (I had the Gen. 3 version with the thinner tip and less robust construction). Not just the tip but it's smaller size makes it more EDC'able IMO.

Yes, the Military blade is 4mm thick while the Endura and Police 3 are both 3mm.

Personally, I'd opt for the FRN version of the Stretch II over all of them, and pretty much every other knife Spyderco makes. Nice pointy, but not overly delicate tip, like the Endura wave, 3mm full flat grind, so it will match the Police 3 for slicing ability, super compact and extremely ergonomic package, and it's now available in ZDP-189 to boot. :D Of the three the OP is considering, Id' take the Police 3. It's shorter in the pocket than the Military and only a hair longer than the Endura, but has a longer blade than either of them. Plus, it has a full flat ground blade thin enough to be a good slicer, and a 50/50 choil which the Endura lacks.
