I was wondering what the nicest spyderco was under about $200. the endura4 and manix2 stand out in particular. any reccommendations? also, the lock on the manix seemed very hard to operate, was it just the model I handled or is this normal?

The Delica/Endura are good knives for the money, but for under $200 there are a few more spydies I would be looking at. Starting with my Sage 3, the action is so smooth on it.

under $200????? you can do far better than all of those for $200. look at a paramilitary 2, military, native 5, manix 2 sprint run etc......... out of your 3 i would say the manix 2. i like the ball lock, the steel, the g10 handles etc..... and the other 2 models are not made in the usa. the manix 2 is made in the usa and that is super important to me

they say there's only one knife that has close to the muscle strength of a cold steel folder, and the familiar sweet edge of a spyderco --and it costs less than $150. the gayle bradley.

I agree with imbryan715. Paramilitary 2 is a great knife. Out of your 3 the Manix 2 is my favorite because I don't like backlocks.
However, I've had problems with the fingerchoil on the manix 2. I tend to cut close to my pointer finger when I cut things and it gets in the way at times.
No matter your choice, pretty much all Spydercos are great!

You can't go wrong with any of those. Both Delica and Endura have already proven their use after years and years. The Manix 2 comes in so many different varieties, that I don't speak of thé M2 anymore. They're all blades with the same idea, but a different execution. You've got the allround M2 with 154CM which should be a pretty good allround and/or harder use folder. You've got the translucent blue lightweight Manix 2 (which is amazingly light) with FFG blade which is maybe not as tough as the regular M2, but it gives you another steel option and it's really light. You've got the moonglow with yet another bladesteel, the s90v M2, the CTS-BD30 M2,...

Ofcourse there are other Spydies, but the three -i'll call them 'groups' since the Delica and Endura also come in different executions (zdp, g10, wave opener,...)- of spydies you've mentioned, already offer a lot of diversity.

Gotta cath 'em all

Para 2, Military, Gayle Bradley, Manix 2, Manix 2 XL would be my picks in that price range, if you like smaller (3" range) knives also take a look at Sage series particularly 2 & 4, and the chaparall. Delica and Endura are good beater/work knives but not cream of the crop for spydercos.
