Ok this is my first attempt at reshaping a blade. I used a cut off wheel on a die grinder and then finishe shaping by hand. I got the metal a bit discolered dispite pouring water on it. I think I got all the affected metal off when I finished shaping by hand. What say tee???

About a fourth of an inch. Blade leg nth now is just a touch under 3.4 inches

If the tip turned light straw colored it was @ 400 +/_ . Light blue was 475 to 500. Dark blue 550/575. Light purple 650. Dark purple 700 fh. Right at the edge itself it would get much hotter and you may be removing this when you sharpen the blade, the next few times, depending on how hot the apex got.
Next time try a finer grinding disc instead of the cut off wheel; secure the right angle grinder in a vise so you can have both hands free; rig up some simple drip system so you can drip water onto the portion of the blade being ground. This will help to keep the heat buildup down.
