I recently got one of these and I REALLY liked it... this is a real winner. The flipping mechanism is innovative, and works great. It has a different feel, but that's ok. The blade is nice as a satin finish... and the grip feels natural and firm in the hand. I hadn more trouble with the mini-version, but that might have just been me. Great Job Kershaw!

Hello OregonEdge. I recently got the small ENRGII and like it very much but it does not open fully everytime. I think because of what you said I will get the large one.Is the large one slim and light for an EDC? I do like the satin finish blade and thin edge.

I had trouble with the flipper on the small one... not sure there was enough blade weight or the grooving on the flipper was a little too rough. The BIG one seems to be the size it's designed for. It's a great EDC. Not too light, but not too heavy. It's really a FUN flipper. I highly recommend. I also reserve judgement on the smaller one since flippers tend to be an individual preference thing, and I credit Kershaw for their size options

Thanks OregonEdge! I appreciate the info. I will order the large one now.
Best regards

I have the same problem with my JYD I sometimes unless I slightly snap my wrist as I flick the flipper...I think that it does have something to do with the smaller, lighter blade...Sort of an inertia thing.:).
