engine oil removal

Hello,
Dropped my knife in engine oil, what's the best way to get it all out?
Dawn dish soap ??

I would stick my hand in the oil and grab and lift the knife. That should get all of it out.

What knife?
Dawn and warm water followed by drying out and a bit of oil in the pivot if it’s a folder will do.

If Dawn's good enough for animals in oil spills, it good enough for your knife.

Spray the knife down with WD 40 and drain/wipe it clean.
Mineral spirits will also work.

Use paint thinner/mineral spirits/naptha/zippo lighter fluid. Drain on a paper towel. Blow out with an air compressor. Repeat if necessary. Re-oil. Don't hold it over the oil pan again.
