So in England at the moment you are legally allowed to buy a knife at the age of 16. I turned 16 the other day and got my dad to tell the people at the store I usually go to that Im 16. I heard now theyre thinking about raising it to 18. The man said it may go to 18 next year, then 16 the year after?! This means that people who legally move out from their house at 16 cant buy a knife for home use?!
At the moment: Numerous knives are illegal including butterfly knives and autos. Youre not allowed to carry and folding lock knives, and can only carry 3inch folders that dont lock.
Pisses me off. Pepper spray tazers handguns all illegal here.

......and i thought california laws were restrictive!

Better practice cutting your steak with a spoon. If they don't start putting age restrictions on spoons, that is.

Do what I did, and move to Canada! Now when I go out I always carry a lockback in my back pocket. My vintage Buck lockback which was given to me by the president of the National Chopper club just languished in a drawer when I was in Cornwall, UK. I couldn't stand that nice Mr Blair and the EU a moment longer, so I voted with my feet.

i have heard firearm laws are pretty restrictive throughout canada. are the knife laws similar?

Start saving money and move away. It will only get worse, those people are in the grip of some kind of delusional hysteria.

your not going to walk into a bear, wolf or mountain lion in the UK though.

you could get a nasty nip from a fox or a badger.

regards.

John.

That is completely irrelevant. Even living in my area with Foxes, Wolves, Mountain Lions, and Bears, I am unlikely to ever be attacked by an animal, especially those three you named (which all tend to avoid humans)

I wonder just what percentage of citizens in the UK have Not been totally brainwashed?

The firearm laws in canada arn't horrible, but can be somewhat problematic.
the thing that gets most people is registration, which is now off the hunting rifles(thank god) But hand guns and everything else are still on the regisrtation list. and i dont know of knifes laws, im sure if you carry a sword down the road someones going to say something, but laws will change province to province.

i had heard that handgun laws were pretty restrictive, ie one per household or something like that, though not from a real reliable source.

in the independent republic all guns must be registered, and knife laws are real tough, especially when in los angeles, as the municipal code further restricts carry by civilians.

Most UK knife sellers that I have seen (online) already requrie 18 y/o to buy a knife, especially when it's classified as an 'offensive weapon', regardless of what the law may say that is lower.
