Engrave your knives?

I was watching a Nutnfancy video and remembered I always see his name engraved on his blades. It looks cool, but probably makes resale more difficult. Do other members do this? What are your thoughts on this practice? I would be afraid of slipping and messing up, and resenting the mess up every time I use the knife. Curious what others think...

I wouldn't recommend doing it, unless you actually have the correct tools and skills with said tool to do the job right. Besides, on knives under the $100 it's not a big deal. Get into the CRK price range and that is just vandalism.

I only do it do my cheaper knives for the fun of it. This one's my shop knife, the CQC-6K.

I'm thinking its not for me, but what do you use to do it? Is it just a basic engraver?

I had some custom knives engraved, a set of three that I was breaking up as gifts to my brothers. Had them engraved "1 of 3" at a local business that does trophies and plaques. Only cost a couple of dollars each and the result was very nice. Wasn't worried about resale value, but being these weren't expensive the effect on value was likely minimal.

I'd like to show what engraving looks like. Done totally free hand, no jig. The other is acid etch, laser, silk screening, ect.. DM
