The Supervisory Special Agent of my group is retireing so all the Agents in my office went in and bought him a Buck Punk. I drove over to the Buck Factory Store and picked it up last week. Came to just over $95 with my military discount and tax. Then we had it engraved with our POD and our badge.

I think the badge came out great and will make a great gift.

Very neat engraved logo and lettering. Did you get it done local? What did the engraving cost?

We had a fellow employee retire last year and was going to engrave a Buck Knife, but the Buck custom shop do not do such things. We then purchased an Army P3 Quartermaster knife (made in USA) as he was a former Army combat Veteran and had it engraved local. Your engraving is nicer.

^We had it done at a local trophy/engraving shop here in Spokane. It cost around $28 to have it engraved, including the badge. Buck could do the lettering but not the badge by the time we needed to give it to him so I didnt ask them about costs.

I am a great Buck Knife supporter, but I not impressed with the Buck Custom shop so far. They can't do what your local and my local shops can do and faster. I am still 100% impressed with your $28 engraving.

It is kind of funny a cop getting a retirement knife called the "Punk.":D

The Punk looks good.

Here is a pre-Hood Buck Bowie with its wall stand we did for our retiring head of firearms training. I got the knife and Leroy Remer inset a 'badge' pin (tie tack)to in the wooden handle. My portion done I sent it to someone else who had a nice small photo laminated and a nice plaque engraved with the necessary wordage. Would have liked to get some engraving on the blade but 10 years ago was blade steel laser engraver poor in the Albq. NM area. I show this just as another alternative for the special gift world if anyone has to do one themselves. Could use a nice wooden handled 124 or 119 to the same effect and find a laser engraver for blade decorations in most areas now.

^I thought about having one of our little tie tac badges inlet into the handle of the Punk but it was just easier and cheaper to have it engraved.

Yes, ours was for sure a wall hanger only. Yours could be carried somewhere to show off.

As big as the blade was, what ours needed was a lasered picture of people on firing range for our situation.

Any retiree with outdoor interests that likes knives would like a stout Buck with some special engraving on it. For Oct. 1 or Dec. 31 retirees now is the time to get those going. Don't say I wish I would have.......
