engraving a spydercard

looking to give a friend a spydercard for xmas/birthday (it'll be a bit late), and was thinking that a personalized engraving would make it a bit more sheeple friendly (he's not really a knife person. this would be for utility.). i was thinking of getting one, openning it, and bringing it to Things Remembered or another mall engraving place.

anyone care to comment on my plan? should i not engrave it for a reason, or get it done elsewhere?

Sounds like a great idea. You might want to re-think things remembered. Years ago I took several spyderco's to them with the same desire. Expressed how costly they were and to not engrave if there was any concern over being able to do it. Got a call a day later to pick up my knives, they weren't interested in the job. OK, so out to another place. Finally went to a jeweler, and got exactly what I wanted at a fraction of the cost. Just my 2 cents.
