Engraving and Scroll Work

What traditional knife pattern or model would you consider ideal for having scroll work engraved onto it?

Pictures of engraved and scrolled knives are welcome!

I am asking because I am looking to buy a knife and have it engraved. (Bob Valade is an old family friend and he has done some work for me before. If I can contact him, and if he feels up to it, he would be my first choice for this work.)

I am leaning towards a slip-joint, but I am open to fixed blades as well. I have enough money for a decent production knife, but not for customs.

Any suggestions, ideas, and pictures are welcome!
