Engraving of Spydercard

I gave the plain Spydercard as a birthday present and had the person's last name engraved at a local shop. It turned out almost invisible--the lettering was a very fine outline style, and you need to hold it up to the light at the right angle to see it. I was quoted about $5 for a 10-letter name, and ended up with a $8 charge besides the two trips to the engraver. So, my advice is to forget about engraving unless you are very sentimental. It's only a $30 knife anyway.

However, it's a nice design and well-made. I would also be interested in a curved belly on this knife, and a black finish would be very attractive.

Dude,

Spyderco's factory outlet does a good engraving job with their diamond engraver!! Seen some awesome samples when I was there last year!
