Engraving on an older knife

After viewing a lot of the messages on the 110 memories thread I got to thinking, is it possible to have Buck place a personal engraving on an older knife that has a specific sentimental value to it? Could someone send it in and have something engraved into the side of the blade for example? I know I have a knife that I would have it done if possible.

I dont know if you have ever seen the Bucks sign knives but they use a little co2 powered ingraver and they just simply write their names. I did see Chuck dedicate several knives at their last sale. People drop off knives to get signed at the factory store all the time, it dose not have to be new just a BUCK. Pretty neat feature if you ask me.

Why not send it into the custom shop for a new blade while you are at it. They do engraving, I bought two engraved 110's for Christmas.

The knife I would like to have engraved has a great deal of sentimental value and I'd like to maintain the original blade, which happens to be in great shape. The only thing I'd like to have done is to have something engraved to signify the knife's importance to me. I'm sure there are others that would like to have this done as well.

Just had another thouht today. If you order a buck custom they will engrave two lines on the blade of 8 characters. They will also do the same on the bolsters. Maybe that would be more to your liking. If you look at the link above and then go to design your knife you can see what I am talking about. They should do this upon special request. Never hurts to ask

Steven, that's always an option to go to a local engraver, but lets just say that I trust the folks at Buck a bit more when it comes to knives. Merry Christmas back at you!
