I hope this is the right area for this, I've searched around on Google and havnt been able to find anywhere local, but the deal is, I have a friend coming home from his 6th and final deployment. I would like to give him a KABAR and I want to get his name, unit, and the unit motto and symbol pad printed on the blade. KABAR's website has some examples of what I am looking for, but they only do lots and I am looking for a one off. So I am turning to the forum here to see if anyone has any ideas.

I would look for a local engraver such as a jewelry store, or perhaps a custom trophy shop to have this done, unless someone on the forum does this type of work.

What you want done is easy to do on a panograph engraving machine as used by jewelry stores, etc. Make sure you check out the work before leaving your knife for engraving. Mistakes are VERY hard to fix on hardened steel. If you can find a shop in your area that specializes in machine engraving with motorized equipment may yield better results. ...Teddy

I know that there are a number of dealers who will also do engraving for you. Give Jason a shout, he does quite a bit of high-end laser work. Just did a couple Christmas presents for a friend of mine, actually. Customized with names and graphics.

He runs a particularly good retail site, that sells almost all the major brands you could want, and I suspect if you asked him, he would give you a quote for laser-engraving on a knife you already own. I'd mention which site exactly, but I'd probably get hammered for advertising or something. Sent it as a profile post. :)
